Standardization of New Colors or Patterns
Any unstandardized color or pattern may be nominated for class status within the unstandardized section of at a recognized show. In order for mice to show in a specific class for an unstandardized color or pattern, however, the class must first be opened by a premium member of the club by submitting a written standard for the new color or pattern (along with photos and/or drawings (if marking pattern) to illustrate it and it's differences from currently existing markings or colors.) The proposed standard will be discussed by MMC officers and approved for the unstandardized class at the show specified by the member. (Reasons for disapproval would be (yet not limited to) insufficiently specific standard, lack of photos or illustrations, or insufficient differences between an existing color or pattern.)
If a new color or pattern nominated to the unstandardized section is nominated to three shows within a 2 year period and has more than 5 exhibitors showing mice regularly within it, any club officer may call for a vote by the membership of the club to promote the color or pattern to full status within the appropriate section of the standard of perfection.
